Must have failed in one or two subjects. If failed in more than two, must repeat the year.

Number of Attempts

One attempt, taken in the year following the board exam.

Three attempts: the first in July (after results), and two more in subsequent years.

Result Consideration

If the student scores higher, the improved marks are recorded. If lower, original marks are retained.

The result is declared as PASS or FAIL in the compartment subject(s). A revised marksheet is issued upon passing.
