The application period for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 is ending soon. Who Can Apply for CLAT 2026?

Students looking to apply for undergraduate (UG) law programs through CLAT 2026 need to meet certain conditions:

  • They must have passed their 12th standard examination or an equivalent exam.
  • Students who are appearing for their 12th standard examination in 2026 can also apply.
  • There is no upper age limit for taking the CLAT examination.
  • The minimum percentage of marks required in 12th standard varies by category. For General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories, it is usually 45% marks . For SC/ST categories, it is usually 40% marks .

How to Fill the CLAT 2026 Application Form Online

The application process for CLAT 2026 is completely online. Follow these steps to register successfully:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to consortiumofnlus.ac.in .
  2. Find Registration Link: Look for the link that says 'CLAT 2026 Registration' or 'Apply for CLAT 2026'.
  3. New Registration: Click on the 'New Registration' option. You will need to enter your name, a valid email address, and your mobile number. Make sure these details are correct as they will be used for all future communication.
  4. Fill the Application Form: Log in using your registered email and password. Fill out the application form with your personal details (like date of birth, address, parent's name) and academic details (like marks from 10th and 12th standard).
  5. Upload Documents: You will need to upload scanned copies of certain documents. Make sure they are clear and follow the size and format guidelines.
  6. Pay Application Fee: Pay the application fee online using methods like credit card, debit card, or net banking. The fee is INR 4,000 for general category students and INR 3,500 for reserved category students (SC/ST/BPL).
  7. Review and Submit: Carefully check all the information you have entered in the form. Make any necessary corrections. Once you are sure everything is correct, submit the application form. It is a good idea to download and print a copy of the submitted form for your records.

Documents Required for Application

When filling out the CLAT 2026 application form, students must have the following documents ready for uploading:

  • Passport-size Photograph: A recent, clear photograph.
  • Signature: Your scanned signature.
  • Category Certificate: If you belong to SC, ST, OBC, or any other reserved category, you need to provide a valid certificate.
  • Domicile Certificate: If applicable, based on your state of residence.
  • 10th Mark Sheet: Proof of your 10th standard marks.
  • 12th Mark Sheet: Proof of your 12th standard marks. If you are appearing for 12th standard in 2026, you will submit marks later.
  • ID Proof: A valid government-issued identification document such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, or Passport.

Prepare for the CLAT 2026 Exam

The CLAT 2026 examination is expected to be held in December 2025 .
