CLAT 2025 Cut off: The CLAT cutoff 2025 will be released by the consortium for all the NLUs after the CLAT Results have been declared. The consortium first conducts the CLAT Counselling, and only those who registered on or before the CLAT Counselling registration date will be allowed to sit for the CLAT Counselling. The CLAT Cutoff will be released after each round of counselling and during the seat allotment for all the National Law Universities (NLUs). It is to be noted that the cutoff is released separately for the Undergraduate (UG) and the Postgraduate (PG) law courses. The CLAT 2025 exam was conducted on December 1, 2024 as an offline pen-and-paper-based-test (PBT) as stated in the official CLAT notification.
The CLAT cutoff is different for each participating institute and the cut off for the top NLUs are generally higher. The CLAT cut off depends on various factors like the number of participating institutes, total number of test takers, difficulty level of the exam and more. There will be five rounds ofCLAT 2025 counsellingfor admissions into participating NLUs. Through theCommon Law Admission Test, candidates are admitted into the law programmes of24 participating NLUs and 60+ affiliated colleges.
Important Factors Affecting the CLAT Cutoff
The CLAT Cutoff is dependant on various factors and is not decided on a random basis. Given below is a brief understanding of all the factors that affect the CLAT 2025 cutoff which are also the deciding factors to know whether the CLAT exam was tough and the estimated cutoff for the year.
Number of candidates appearing in the exam: The more number of candidates appearing for CLAT, the higher the competition will be. As per statistics available for last year, 58504 candidates appeared in CLAT UG and 10282 candidates appeared for CLAT PG.
Difficulty level of the exam: An easy CLAT question paper will lead to a higher CLAT 2025 cut-off score. As per last year's CLAT exam analysis, 90+ was a good score in CLAT.

CLAT NLU preferences: Candidates can gain admission in only those NLUs that are part of theirNLU preferences. The most preferred NLUs such as NLSIU Bengaluru and NALSAR Hyderabad tend to have higher CLAT cut off.
Reservation policy followed by each NLU: The reservation policy followed by the NLUs will impact the category-wise CLAT cut-off 2025. Some NLUs also have domicile reservation, where seats are reserved for candidates who belong to the state in which the NLU is located.
Seats offered by the NLUs: The higher the number ofCLAT seatsoffered by an NLU, the more students can gain admission into it. More seats can lead to a decrease in the last admitted candidate's CLAT cut-off score.

CLAT 2020 College-wise Cut-Off
2020 was the first year of the new pattern-based examination; hence, a change in cut-off was also observed. The cut-off was slightly higher. NLSIU planned to conduct a separate entrance for themselves but took admissions through the Common Law Admission Test.
