JAC Board Question Papers for Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2026 Finalized: Model Tests, Remedial Classes Planned for January

The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) is in the final stages of preparation for the Class 10 (Matric) and JAC Class 12 (Intermediate) board examinations 2026, which are scheduled to commence in February 2026 and conclude by March 2026. Sources from the Council confirm that the JAC 10th and JAC 12th question papers 2026 have already been finalized well ahead of the exam schedule.

To improve student readiness, especially after unsatisfactory performances in the recent pre-board assessments, JAC has mandated all affiliated schools to conduct model tests and remedial classes throughout January 2026. These initiatives aim to reinforce key concepts, bridge learning gaps, and boost overall academic performance among students appearing for the board exams.

Focus on Conceptual Understanding in JAC Board Exams 2026

While the 2026 question papers will continue to include a mix of objective and subjective questions along with practical components, officials have confirmed that the design will place greater emphasis on conceptual clarity and analytical thinking. The Council aims to move away from rote learning and encourage students to apply their knowledge more effectively.

In line with this vision, JAC is participating in a national-level pilot project involving seven state boards, working collectively to create a standardised JAC exam blueprint. This initiative, supported by education experts, is intended to bring the format of state board examinations closer to that of national-level competitive exams. Teachers across Jharkhand have actively contributed to this project, developing questions that assess application-based understanding rather than simple recall.

January Preparation Push: Model Tests & Remedial Teaching

To ensure students are well-prepared for the shift in question paper structure and difficulty level, JAC has instructed schools to conduct dedicated model tests and extra remedial classes in January 2026. These are designed to familiarise students with the revised exam format and help them strengthen weaker subject areas.

What Can Students Expect

  • Board Exam Period: February to March 2026
  • Model Tests & Remedial Classes: January 2026
  • Question Paper Format: Balanced mix of objective, subjective, and practical components
  • New Focus: Conceptual clarity, application-oriented questions
  • Pilot Project Participation: One of 7 state boards working on a common exam blueprint

Students and schools are advised to follow updates from JAC’s official website and stay engaged with the preparatory activities being rolled out in schools. With enhanced efforts and an improved approach to assessment, the 2026 board exams are set to test not just memory, but meaningful understanding.
