About the Job
We are looking for a hands-on Speech Engineer to lead the deployment and optimization of on-premise ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) and TTS (Text-to-Speech) systems powering WordWorks AI’s enterprise-grade voice bots. This role requires someone who can bridge speech technology, infrastructure, and real-world telephony integration, with a focus on Arabic and multilingual capabilities.Key responsibilities:
1. Deploy, configure, and optimize on-prem ASR/TTS engines such as Microsoft Speech containers, NVIDIA Riva, Google Speech-to-Text On-Prem, or equivalent.
2. Integrate ASR/TTS services with SIP/VoIP systems, WebSockets, and our agentic AI workflow engine.
3. Benchmark and fine-tune ASR accuracy for noisy telephony audio and regional accents (Arabic, English, Hindi).
4. Test and validate neural TTS voices, ensuring natural prosody, low latency, and language coverage (Arabic variants, English, others).
5. Ensure low-latency performance with barge-in handling (<300 ms round-trip).
6. Build monitoring, logging, and health checks for speech services in Kubernetes/Docker.
7. Work with AI engineers to tune models for specific BFSI and SaaS use cases like collections, onboarding, and order-to-cash automation.
8. Maintain strict compliance by keeping audio and data fully within the customer infrastructure.
