About the Job
Key Responsibilities:A. Financial Reporting, Accounting & Statutory Compliance of Clients:
1. Maintain books of accounts, bank reconciliations, and cash flow statements.
2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, MIS).
3. Handle budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
4. Finalize accounts for clients across various sectors.
5. Review client MIS reports, budgets, and financial statements.
6. Ensure compliance with statutory duties of clients, including direct and indirect taxes.
7. Coordinate with auditors and prepare audit schedules.
8. Monitor receivables, payables, and ensure timely invoicing and collections.
9. Manage payroll processing and related statutory compliances as per geographical requirements.
B. Client Engagement/Project Management:
1. Supervise client projects, understand consulting needs, and manage deliverable timelines and team efficiencies.
2. Ensure client compliance with applicable tax laws (Direct and Indirect Tax).
3. Liaise with clients to provide advisory on accounting treatments and tax implications.
4. Coordinate with internal audit, statutory audit, and tax teams for cross-functional assignments.
C. Team Management & Reporting:
1. Lead a team of accountants and finance executives/associates.
2. Allocate tasks, review work, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
3. Report financial performance to top management.
4. Provide training and mentoring to staff on accounting best practices and regulatory changes.
Required Skills & Competencies:
1. Strong knowledge of accounting standards (Ind AS/AS), GST, TDS, and Income Tax.
2. Proficiency in Tally ERP, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.
3. Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication.
6. Ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines.
Technical Skills:
1. MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
2. Accounting software like Tally, Zoho Books, and QuickBooks.
3. Tax utilities (GST portal, Income Tax portal).
4. Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
A. General Skills:
1. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Ability to handle clients independently.
3. Time management and multi-tasking skills.
4. Teamwork and leadership qualities (especially if leading juniors).
B. Other Requirements:
1. Willingness to learn and take on diverse responsibilities.
2. Long-term commitment (some firms require at least 1–2 years of commitment).
3. Knowledge of the latest amendments in tax and audit regulations.
C. Key Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, audit processes, and compliance.
2. Hands-on experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.
3. Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
4. Familiarity with foreign exchange transactions and cross-border compliance.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to work directly with international clients and manage deliverables.
