About the Job
Key responsibilities:A. Procurement Strategy & Planning:
1. Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production and R&D requirements.
2. Establish sourcing plans for electronic, mechanical, and aerospace-grade components.
3. Forecast material and component requirements in coordination with design, R&D, and production teams.
B. Vendor Development & Management:
1. Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors for drone components, electronics, batteries, motors, sensors, and composites.
2. Negotiate prices, payment terms, and supply contracts to achieve optimal cost and quality.
3. Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure timely procurement of materials. Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and audits.
C. Procurement Operations:
1. Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and inventory coordination in ERP systems.
2. Handle import/export documentation and coordinate with logistics partners for International sourcing.
3. Track and ensure on-time delivery of materials as per production schedules.
4. Maintain accurate documentation for procurement activities, approvals, and materials receipts.
D. Quality & Compliance:
1. Ensure all procured components meet required technical and quality specifications. Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure inspection and acceptance procedures are followed.
2. Ensure compliance with DGCA, aerospace, and defense procurement norms where applicable.
3. Maintain traceability and certification records for all critical parts.
E. Cost Control & Budgeting:
1. Monitor procurement costs and identify opportunities for savings.
2. Optimize inventory levels to balance availability and working capital efficiency—support management in budgeting and cost estimation for projects and tenders.
F. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
1. Work closely with R&D, Production, and Finance teams for procurement planning and approvals.
2. Provide timely inputs on lead times, costs, and material availability for project planning.
3. Support new product development (NPD) by sourcing innovative and alternative materials.
