About the Internship
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Intern to join our team. The intern will assist in designing, developing, and optimising mechanical components and systems for the defence forces. This role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and technologies in a collaborative environment, providing an excellent opportunity to enhance your technical and professional skills.Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Assist in the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (i.e, SolidWorks)
2. Conduct research and feasibility studies to evaluate design concepts.
3. Support the team in creating 2D/3D models and detailed engineering drawings.
4. Perform engineering calculations, including stress analysis and tolerance analysis, to ensure design integrity.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and quality control, to ensure designs meet specifications.
6. Participate in prototyping, testing, and validation of designs.
7. Document design processes, revisions, and technical data accurately.
8. Assist in creating a bill of materials (BOM) for projects.
9. Provide support for ongoing projects and contribute to problem-solving activities.
10. Parts selections, vendor follow up and requirements gathering
11. Testing and validation.
