SSC Stenographer Exam 2025: Key Information

The SSC Stenographer exam is a nationwide test to recruit skilled individuals for Grade C (Group B Non-Gazetted) and Grade D (Group C) posts. Stenographers play a vital role in government offices, helping with official communication by taking dictation and transcribing speeches or reports. The computer-based test is the first stage of selection. After passing this, candidates must clear a skill test to prove their shorthand and typing abilities.

For the 2025 recruitment cycle, a total of around 1,590 vacancies are available. These positions are widely sought after by students looking for stable career opportunities in the central government sector. The results of the CBT will determine which candidates move forward to the next stage of the selection process.

  • Step 4: If a login page appears, enter your examination roll number and other required details, such as your date of birth or password.
  • Step 5: After submitting your details, your SSC Stenographer 2025 result will appear on the screen. This will show your marks, qualifying status, and other important information.
  • Step 6: Carefully check all the details on your scorecard. Download the result PDF and save it on your computer or mobile device. It is also highly recommended to print several copies for your records and for the next stages of the recruitment process.

What Happens After the Result?

The scorecard you receive after the CBT results are announced is a very important document. It acts as your entry pass for the next stages of the SSC Stenographer recruitment. These stages include the Skill Test and Document Verification.

Skill Test

Candidates who qualify in the computer-based test will be called for a Skill Test. In this test, candidates will have to show their shorthand writing and typing speed. For Grade C, candidates need to type at 100 words per minute (WPM) in English or Hindi. For Grade D, the speed requirement is 80 WPM in English or Hindi. This test is qualifying in nature, meaning you must pass it, but your marks from this test are not added to your final score.

Document Verification (DV)

After successfully clearing the skill test, candidates will go through the Document Verification (DV) stage. Here, the SSC checks all your original documents to make sure they match the information you provided in your application form. Candidates must bring their original scorecard from the CBT, along with all academic certificates (like 10th and 12th mark sheets), identity proof, caste certificate (if applicable), and other relevant documents. You must also carry self-attested photocopies of all these documents.

The SSC will specify the venue and date for the skill test and document verification in your call letter. It is crucial to keep your scorecard and all other examination-related documents safe. The SSC advises candidates to retain all these papers for at least one year after the entire recruitment process is finished. This is important for any future checks or references.

Candidates are encouraged to check the official SSC website regularly for the latest updates regarding result announcements, skill test dates, and document verification schedules. Do not rely on unofficial sources for important information.
