What’s Happening:
Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is looking for a post-doctoral researcher to join its CLEANZ Centre of Excellence. This position is part of a bigger project aimed at transforming carbon emissions into fuels and valuable chemicals, providing a genuine opportunity to contribute to climate-friendly innovation.
The Package:
The monthly consolidated fellowship ranges from ₹70,680 to ₹85,000, based on experience and expertise.
Who They’re Looking For:
- Candidates must have a PhD in environmental engineering, biotechnology, microbiology, chemical engineering, climate change, or a closely related discipline.
- New PhD graduates are welcome, and interim degrees are allowed.
- Prior knowledge with techniques such as chromatography, electrochemistry, and experimental setup design is extremely advantageous.
- Strong publication records in Scopus-indexed journals are necessary. Applications including work from predatory journals will be disqualified.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Create a prototype bioelectrochemical system that transforms CO₂ into fuel or chemicals.
- Experiment and analyze performance under real industrial flue gas conditions.
- Work with microbes and algae to boost their lipid production and improve lipid extraction methods.
- Manage lab operations, prepare project reports, write academic papers, and contribute to IP filings if applicable.
Performance Evaluation:
Your success will be determined based on research outputs like the published publications, patent applications, and overall contributions to lab operations and project advancement.
Duration & Extension:
The initial appointment is for a year. Extensions may be granted based on the results of the performance review.
