The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important message for all students planning to appear for the NEET UG 2026 exam. NTA has asked students to update key documents now to ensure a smooth application process when registrations begin.

The NEET UG exam is a national test for students who want to join medical and dental courses in India. The application forms for NEET UG 2026 will be released very soon. Before you fill out the form, NTA wants you to make sure your important identity and category documents are correct and up-to-date.

Why Update Your Documents Now?

Updating your documents early will help you avoid problems later. If your details on the application form do not match your documents, it can cause delays or even lead to your application being rejected. NTA wants to make sure every student can apply without any trouble.

Which Documents Need to be Updated?

Students should check and update the following documents:

  • Aadhaar Card: This is a very important ID card. Make sure all the information on your Aadhaar card is correct and current.

  • Category Certificate: If you belong to EWS (Economically Weaker Section), SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe), or OBC-NCL (Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer), you need a valid category certificate. Ensure your certificate is recent and correct.

What to Check on Your Aadhaar Card:

For your Aadhaar Card , please check these details carefully:

  • Name: Your full name should match your school records.
  • Date of Birth: The date, month, and year of your birth must be accurate.
  • Gender: Make sure your gender is correct.
  • Photograph: Your photo on the Aadhaar card should be clear and recent.
  • Address: Your current address should be listed correctly.
  • Biometric Information: This includes your fingerprints and iris scan. Ensure they are updated if needed.

If any of these details on your Aadhaar card are wrong or outdated, you should get them corrected at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra or through the official UIDAI website.

What to Check for UDID Card and Category Certificate:

For the UDID Card (for PwD candidates) and Category Certificates (for EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL), ensure that:

  • The certificate is valid and not expired.
