Mumbai Records Best HSC Results in 8 Years; Latur Registers Lowest Performance in Maharashtra, Check Details Below

With the exception of 2021, when exams were suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Mumbai division had its greatest performance in eight years, although the state's total success rate of 90.2% in the HSC results, which were released on Monday, decreased 1.7% from 2024.

Education professionals and officials are concerned about the decline in pass costs, which educators say is the biggest in recent memory. This decline is particularly troubling given the division's past reputation for academic brilliance. The districts of Latur, Dharashiv, and Nanded are included in the division.

Slight dip in Kolhapur, Sambhaji Nagar

In a similar declining trend, Kolhapur division placed second out of nine divisions in the state, while its HSC pass percentage decreased little from 94.2% in 2024 to 93.6% this year. Kolhapur district had the highest pass percentage in the division (94.4%), followed by Satara (92.8%) and Sangli (93.4%).

With Beed district taking first place in the division, more than 92.2% of students in the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar division passed the HSC exams this year, a 1.8% decrease from 94.1% the year before. Strict anti-malpractice campaigns were highlighted by education department officials as the cause of the division's overall decline in pass percentages.

Nashik, Nagpur Reported drop in ranking

With a 91.3% pass rate in the HSC exams, which were released on Monday, Nashik fell from its second-place of 94.7% the previous year to seventh place among the state's nine divisions. With a 95.6% exam pass rate, Nashik district led the division, followed by Jalgaon (94.5%), Nandurbar (86.6%), and Dhule (74.9%).

In the HSC board exams, Eastern Vidarbha did not do particularly well; out of the nine divisions in the state, the Nagpur division came in eighth. Nagpur division, which oversees six districts, barely made it above Latur division with a passing percentage of 90.52%. Last year, the Nagpur division also achieved ninth place.

Nagpur division's performance was the worst hit due to Gadchiroli which recorded 81.77% passing percentage. Only Nagpur and Gondia managed to cross the 90% passing benchmark in this division.
