The Maharashtra State CET Cell has released the MHT CET 2026 application form today, January 1. Students aiming for admission to engineering (BTech), pharmacy (BPharm), and other related courses in Maharashtra can now apply online. The application link is available on the official website, cetcell.mahacet.org.
This year, there are some important changes. First, candidates must have their Aadhaar card ready and updated. Second, an APAAR ID has been made mandatory for registration. The MHT CET exam will also be held twice in 2026, giving students two chances to appear.

Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria
To apply for MHT CET 2026, students must meet certain conditions:
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 or be appearing for the Class 12 exams in 2026.
- In Class 12, students must have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. They also need one more subject from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, IT, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or a Technical Vocational subject. Alternatively, they can have passed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology.
- Students must have scored at least 45% marks in Class 12. For candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/SBC), EWS, and Persons with Disability (PwD) belonging to Maharashtra State, the minimum marks required are 40%.
- There is no age limit to apply for MHT CET 2026.
Mandatory Documents for Registration
Before filling the form, keep these documents ready:
- An updated Aadhaar Card: Ensure your name, date of birth (as per Class 10 marksheet), photo, address, father's name, and mobile number linked to Aadhaar are all correct and updated.
- APAAR ID: This is a 12-digit unique digital ID for students. You can create it online through the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) or DigiLocker websites. Your school can also help you get this ID.
- Class 10 mark sheet
- Date of Birth proof
- Address proof
- Caste/category certificate (if you belong to a reserved category)
- Domicile certificate (for Maharashtra state candidates, needed at counselling)
- Scanned passport-sized photograph
- Credit card, Debit card, Internet banking, or UPI ID for fee payment
- For PwD candidates: Disability Certificate and/or Unique Disability ID (UDID Card), and Scribe Details (if eligible)
How to Fill the MHT CET 2026 Application Form
Follow these simple steps to apply online:
- Register at CET portal: Go to cetcell.mahacet.org. Provide your name, a valid email ID, and an active phone number to register.
- Fill application form: Enter all required details such as parent names, educational background, mobile number, and address.
- Select CET: Choose the MHT CET exam group (PCM or PCB) you wish to apply for.
- Upload documents: Upload scanned copies of your photograph and other necessary documents.
- Pay application fee: Pay the application fee online using net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI. The fee must be paid online only; offline payment is not allowed.

The application fee is expected to increase this year by INR 150-250. Based on last year's fees, here is an estimate:

MHT CET Exam Pattern and Syllabus
There are no changes to the MHT CET exam pattern for 2026. The exam has three papers:
- Paper 1: Mathematics
- Paper 2: Physics and Chemistry
- Paper 3: Biology
Students interested in BTech, BPlan, and Integrated BTech-MTech courses will take Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). Those applying for BPharm and PharmD courses will appear for Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry) and Paper 3 (Biology).
The syllabus for MHT CET 2026 covers topics from Class 11 and Class 12 of the Maharashtra Board. Around 20% of the questions will be from Class 11 topics and 80% from Class 12 topics.
Important Notes for Candidates
- Mobile Application: It is recommended to fill the application form using a computer or laptop. Uploading and resizing documents can be difficult on a mobile phone.
- Calculators: Calculators, smartwatches, or any electronic gadgets are not allowed in the exam hall.
- Non-Maharashtra Candidates: Students not from Maharashtra can also apply for MHT CET 2026. However, they will be considered under the non-Maharashtra candidate category and will not receive state reservation benefits.
