The State CET Cell of Maharashtra has released important new rules for the MAH BEd CET 2025 admission process. These guidelines are for CAP Round 3, which is the third round of admissions for students seeking to join Bachelor of Education (BEd) courses in Maharashtra. The CET Cell has also provided detailed instructions for the Institutional Round, known as Round IV, which will follow Round 3.
What to Do for CAP Round 3 Admission
All students wishing to participate in CAP Round 3 must understand the actions required based on their previous admission status. Below is a guide on what you need to do:
| Your Past Admission Status | Action Required for Round 3 |
| You were offered a seat and chose to 'freeze' it, but did not complete the admission by visiting the college and confirming. | You must fill a new option form to be considered for Round 3. |
| You successfully got admission and confirmed it at a college in a previous round, but now wish to change colleges. | You first need to cancel your earlier admission online . After cancelling, visit the college to get an official cancellation receipt. Only then can you fill a new option form for Round 3. |
| Your application was rejected by a college in any of the previous admission rounds. | You are directly eligible to participate in Round 3 without any extra steps. |
| You already paid the ₹1,000 seat acceptance fee in an earlier CAP round. | You do not need to pay this ₹1,000 fee again for Round 3. |
Key Rules for Document Submission
When you proceed with your admission at a college, pay close attention to the document requirements. Incorrect or missing documents can lead to your admission being cancelled.
- Colleges will mainly verify the information and details you provided in your CAP Application Form. Ensure all details match your original documents.
- It is important to note that you are NOT required to submit your original CET Hall Ticket to the college during the admission process.
- For students belonging to SEBC, OBC, SC, VJ, NT, and SBC categories , the deadline for submitting your Caste Validity Certificate (CVC) has been extended by 6 months . This gives you more time to arrange the document.
- However, students from the ST (Scheduled Tribe) category must submit their original Tribe Validity Certificate (TVC) before the final admission date for Round 3. This is a strict requirement.
- If you are applying under the NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) or EWS (Economically Weaker Section) categories , you must upload your valid NCL or EWS certificates before the end of the Round 3 admission period.
- If you fail to provide the required documents by the stated deadlines, the college has the right to cancel your admission.
Understanding the "Freeze" Option in Round 3
For CAP Round 3, students will find only one option available in their online login area: the "Freeze" option.
- Selecting "Freeze" means you accept the college seat offered to you in Round 3. By choosing this, you confirm your admission to that specific college and will not be considered for any further rounds or better college options.
- After selecting "Freeze", you must pay the ₹1,000 seat acceptance fee online. Remember, if you already paid this fee in CAP Round 1 or Round 2, you do not need to pay it again in Round 3.
Eligibility for the Institutional Round (Round IV)
The Institutional Round, also known as Round IV, is an opportunity for students after CAP Round 3. Here are the rules for who can take part:
- Students who had secured admission in earlier rounds but later decided to cancel it are eligible to participate in this Institutional Round.
- If you are an applicant from the ST, NCL, or EWS categories and you are unable to provide the necessary documents, you must edit your application form. You need to change your category to the Open category to be considered for Round IV admissions.
- Please be aware that there are expected to be very limited seats available in Round IV. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that students try their best to secure admission during CAP Round 3 itself, if possible.
Important Points for All Candidates to Remember
- Some students might have faced rejection from colleges in previous rounds due to errors or differences in their application details.
- Students who chose the 'freeze' option in Round 1 or Round 2 but did not complete their admission by visiting the college or paying the required fees, must submit a new option form if they wish to apply again in later rounds.
- If you had already confirmed your admission in an earlier round but have now changed your mind and wish to get into a different college, you must first cancel your existing admission. After receiving the cancellation receipt, you can then fill out a new option form to seek admission in subsequent rounds.
