The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has started the registration for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM) 2026. The exam is intended for students hoping to pursue postgraduate level programs ( like an M. Sc., M.Sc.-Ph.D. joint program dual degree programs, etc.) and advanced science courses offered by various prestigious institutions in IITs, IISc, and such.
IIT JAM registration can be done online through the official website which is open from September 05 to October 12, 2025. The exam will be held on 15 February 2026, across several test centres in India. IIT JAM is a national level exam and very competitive; therefore, the exam will cover topics such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, biotechnology, geology, economics and mathematical statistics.

How to Register for IIT JAM 2026?
- Visit the Website: Students must first visit the official IIT JAM website at jam2026.iitb.ac.in
- JOAPS Registration: After visiting the homepage of the JAM website, students must find and select the JOAPS or JAM Online Application Processing System portal. Students will be required to register by providing important details including their email address, date of birth, phone number as well as setting up a password.
- Login Credentials: After registering and providing the required details, students will receive their login credentials for the JAM website.
- Application Form: Students will now be able to login to the JAM website using their newly generated credentials. They will then be required to fill-in the details required on the IIT JAM application form. These details include personal details, academic details, exam paper choice and examination cities of preference.
- Document Uploading: After filling in the required details, students must upload the required documents for the exam.
- Application Fees: To complete the registration process for the IIT JAM 2026 exam, students must pay the application fees as per their category. If students do not pay the application fees, their registration will not be considered.
