Indian Institute of Management (IIM Ranchi) has reported an impressive salary package of INR 50.39 Lakh per annum during the placement season of 2024-25, which shows a staggering 33% increase in the IIM Ranchi highest package as per domestic CTC. Students are getting enthusiastic, and even their expectations have been raised for a newer IIM. These facts raise questions about the versatile dynamics that are constantly evolving for B-School placements in India.
While the institute has 100% placements to boast about, with 236 PPOs (an increase from last year) and the average salary rising to ₹18.69 LPA, the shining star is naturally the ₹50 lakh+ offer. But the million-dollar question is: how many students get even close to touching the number?
“It’s the age-old MBA trick. Throw a massive CTC number in the headline and bury the real median in the middle,” quipped an X (formerly Twitter) user and MBA alumnus.
