IIM Ahmedabad is opening its first overseas campus in Dubai on September 11, 2025. The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will launch its first international campus in Dubai International Academic City (DIAC). This makes IIM-A the first Indian Institute of Management to open a full campus abroad.
The Dubai campus will initially offer a one-year MBA program. This program is for working professionals, entrepreneurs, and business leaders. Artificial intelligence, innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional business strategies will be its main topics. Along with the MBA, IIM-A will also provide executive education courses for senior managers and corporate leaders.
The plan for the Dubai campus was officially shared during IIM-A’s 60th convocation. The institute said this move is part of its long-term plan to expand its global presence.
The opening will take place in two stages. First, the campus will function inside DIAC starting from September 2025. In the second phase, by 2029, IIM-A plans to open a permanent, purpose-built campus in Dubai.
Just like IIT Madras which opened a campus in Zanzibar in 2023, and IIT Delhi started one in Abu Dhabi in 2024. With this, IIM-A becomes the first IIM to join the list.

- When admissions open, interested applicants should go to the official IIM Ahmedabad website (iima.ac.in) and search the Dubai Campus section and click on the MBA program link.
- After that fill in the online application form with personal, academic, and work experience details.
- Then upload the required documents such as degree certificates, ID proof, and work experience letters.
- Online payment of the application fee is required to finish the process.
