The Indian government has approved three new Dr. Ambedkar Chairs in universities across the country. These new chairs will help students and researchers study the life and work of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar , focusing on social justice and equality in India.
The Dr. Ambedkar Foundation , which works under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment , Government of India, signed important agreements (Memorandums of Understanding or MoUs) today. These agreements confirm the establishment of these new chairs at Mumbai University , Jaipur National University , and GB Pant University of Technical and Agriculture University .
What are Dr. Ambedkar Chairs?
Dr. Ambedkar Chairs are special centres within universities. Their main purpose is to encourage research, teaching, and activities related to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Students and teachers at these chairs will explore his ideas, writings, and life story.
