About the Job
We are seeking a battery modelling engineer to join our R&D team and contribute to the design, development, and validation of advanced battery models. You will play a critical role in building physics-based and data-driven models for battery behaviour, degradation, and State-of-Health (SoH) prognosis, integrating these models into our BatteryScope Digital Twin platform.Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and refine electrochemical, thermal, and degradation models for Li-ion and emerging chemistries.
2. Build and validate Digital Twin frameworks combining physics-based models with machine learning.
3. Analyse experimental data from cell cyclers, spectroscopy, and embedded sensors to parameterize and verify models.
4. Collaborate with embedded systems and software engineers to deploy models into real-time diagnostic and prognostic tools.
5. Perform model sensitivity analyses, uncertainty quantification, and optimisation for system-level applications.
6. Support the design of battery health assessment protocols for EV and second-life applications.
7. Document models, publish findings, and contribute to patent filings where applicable.
