About the Job
Key Responsibilities:A. Structural design & analysis:
1. Perform detailed structural analysis (Stress analysis, FEM/FEA) on primary and secondary aircraft structures (e.g., wing ribs, fuselage panels) using industry tools like Nastran/Patran and ANSYS.
2. Support the design process using CATIA V5/3DEXPERIENCE or Siemens NX to achieve structural optimization, focusing on weight reduction while maintaining safety margins under ultimate load conditions.
3. Document all analysis results in comprehensive technical reports for internal review and certification purposes.
B. Aerodynamics & performance:
1. Conduct computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations using ANSYS Fluent or OpenFOAM to optimize airfoil and airframe designs.
2. Validate aerodynamic models by analyzing and correlating flight test data against predictions from wind tunnel tests or simulations using MATLAB scripts.
C. Systems integration & testing:
1. Assist in the integration and maintenance of Avionics and flight control systems, including the development of interface control documents (ICDs).
2. Develop and test flight control algorithms and dynamics models using MATLAB/Simulink.
3. Support the propulsion team with analysis of data from engine testing, focusing on performance metrics like thrust-to-weight ratio and fuel efficiency.
D. Compliance & manufacturing support:
1. Ensure all designs and processes adhere to relevant industry standards, including AS9100, and regulatory frameworks such as FAA FAR Part 23/25.
2. Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve non-conformance reports (NCRs) and update engineering drawings to reflect "as-built" configurations, applying principles of GD&T.
