About the Internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:1. Performing server-side optimization to improve website performance and load times.
2. Analyzing and optimizing SQL queries to ensure faster database interactions.
3. Conduct database optimization, including table optimization and index improvements.
4. Identifying and removing unused queries from the codebase.
5. Reviewing and removing/cleaning unused plugins that may negatively impact performance.
6. Clearing old revisions and unnecessary data from the database to reduce size and improve efficiency.
7. Installing and configuring query monitoring tools to track and analyze database and PHP performance.
8. Resolving performance bottlenecks, including:
a. Reducing excessive database queries.
b. Fixing PHP errors.
c. Decreasing page generation time to under 3 seconds.
d. Removing unused or outdated code.
e. Collaborating with the stakeholders to ensure backend changes align with overall site performance goals.
9. Goal: Enhancing backend efficiency, improving query performance, and ensuring the website runs smoothly and loads quickly for users. Integrating a CDN if needed, and being willing to change servers if necessary.
