About the Internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:Website Setup & Configuration
- Install WordPress on hosting environments.
- Set up themes (premium or free) and child themes.
- Configure site settings (permalinks, timezone, site title, etc.).
Theme Customization
- Modify layouts and colors via the Customizer.
- Edit CSS to match brand guidelines.
- Create/modify page templates using theme builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg).
Plugin Management
- Research, install, and configure necessary plugins (SEO, security, forms, caching, etc.).
- Keep plugins updated and troubleshoot compatibility issues.
- Content Creation & Management
- Add and format pages, posts, and media.
- Structure menus and navigation.
- Optimize images for web performance.
Basic SEO Implementation
- Add meta titles/descriptions.
- Ensure proper heading structure (H1, H2, etc.).
- Create and submit sitemaps.
- Testing & Quality Assurance
- Test website responsiveness across devices.
- Check for broken links and fix them.
- Verify cross-browser compatibility.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Identify and fix common WordPress errors.
- Backup sites before major changes.
- Update WordPress core, themes, and plugins regularly.
Documentation & Reporting
- Keep a log of changes made each day.
- Report progress and roadblocks to the supervisor.
