About Talkster:

Talkster is an English language learning app designed to help people in India speak English confidently in real-world situations. Our focus is on practical English that learners can use at work, at home, and in social settings.
We offer short, engaging lessons in the learner's mother tongue—such as Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, or Gujarati—alongside English. Learners can watch lessons, practice speaking in real time, and receive instant feedback on grammar and pronunciation.
As part of our team, you’ll help create learning experiences that are culturally relevant, easy to follow, and genuinely impactful for millions of learners. You’ll work with a passionate, collaborative team that values creativity, attention to detail, and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Selected intern’s day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Content Translation – Translate curriculum content into Kannada using our internal tools.
2. Content Review – Work with internal team members and external advisors to check grammar, fluency, and cultural relevance of translated content.
3. Product & Content Testing – Test content and app features before and after release to ensure a smooth user experience.
4. Product & Content Improvement – Suggest enhancements to both the content and the app.
5. User Engagement – Interact with potential users, gather feedback, and encourage them to try the app.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills in Kannada and Hindi, with the ability to switch naturally between formal and everyday usage.
2. Deep knowledge of conversational Kannada and Hindi as spoken in India, including common phrases, polite expressions, and regionally relevant vocabulary.
3. Experience proofreading and editing Kannada content—ensuring it is grammatically correct, easy to understand, and culturally appropriate.
4. Access to a working laptop or desktop computer capable of video meetings (Zoom) and collaborative work on Google Workspace.
5. Comfort with digital tools, especially Google Docs and other Google Workspace applications.
6. (Bonus) Experience teaching English to Indian learners or working with language learning apps/platforms, with an understanding of how Indians learn English as a second language.
