About the Internship
Most people think a social media manager only uploads videos and replies to comments, but that's an assistant, not a manager. You will be our distribution strategist, deciding when, where, and how to post for maximum reach; our audience intelligence officer, spotting trending topics before they peak; our community architect, turning viewers into superfans and advocates; our growth engineer, A/B testing everything and optimizing for algorithms; and our brand guardian, ensuring every response reflects our brand voice. You are the bridge between content and audience, making great videos succeed.Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilites include:
A. Content Publishing & Optimization (25% time):
1. YouTube Main Channel (30–45 min/video):
a. writing SEO-optimized titles (60 chars max, Telugu + English mix) (bad: 'New Policy Announced'; good: 'Telangana EV Policy: ₹50,000 Subsidy | What You Need to Know')
b. crafting compelling descriptions (timestamps, links, hashtags)
c. selecting 10–15 relevant tags for discoverability
d. verifying thumbnails work on mobile preview
e. scheduling strategically: 7–8 AM (commute), 1–2 PM (lunch), 7–9 PM (evening)
f. adding end screens and cards at strategic moments
2. YouTube Shorts (15 min/short):
a. publishing 2–3 shorts daily (repurpose highlights, teasers, quick facts)
b. hooking in first 3 seconds (brutal drop-off after)
c. using text overlays visible for viewers watching without sound
d. adding #Shorts hashtag, maintaining casual tone
3. Instagram (20 min/post):
a. creating feed posts with hook in first line (rest hidden behind "more")
b. making reels with trending audio when relevant
c. posting stories daily (tease videos, polls, swipe-ups)
d. using 10–15 strategic hashtags
4. Twitter/X (10 min/tweet):
a. tweeting formula: hook → 2–3 line summary → video link → hashtags
b. creating threads for complex topics (5–8 tweets)
c. replying to trending conversations for visibility
d. pinning best-performing tweet
5. Goal: Right content, right platform, right time = maximum engagement
B. SEO & Discoverability (15% time):
1. Weekly Keyword Research (2 hours):
a. using YouTube autocomplete, VidIQ/TubeBuddy, Google Trends
b. finding high-volume, low-competition keywords
c. maintaining keyword bank spreadsheet (target dates, monthly searches)
2. A/B Testing:
a. testing titles/thumbnails after Day 3 (one variable at a time)
b. comparing CTR after 7 days, keeping winner
c. example: "Metro Expansion" vs "Your Commute Just Got Easier"
3. Playlist Strategy:
a. organizing content: "Telugu Business News," "Tech Explained," "Policy Updates"
b. boosting watch time via autoplay (algorithm loves this)
c. updating immediately with new videos
4. Cross-Linking:
a. using end screens to suggest related videos
b. linking descriptions to playlists
c. pinning comments with relevant links to keep viewers on your channel, not competitors'
5. Goal: Be found organically, rank in searches, dominate recommendations
