About the Internship
Selected intern’s day-to-day responsibilities include:1. Spend time understanding the existing OneLap architecture (Spring MVC/Spring Boot, database structure, APIs).
2. Learn how GPS tracking data flows through the system (from devices → server → database → UI).
3. Work under guidance to understand coding standards, version control (Git), and deployment flow.
4. Assist in developing new REST APIs using Spring Boot/Spring MVC.
5. Write service and repository layer logic for new features or bug fixes.
6. Work on data handling tasks (queries in PostgreSQL, JSON parsing, etc.).
7. Implement and test small enhancements or modules in existing microservices.
8. Investigate bugs reported by QA or support team (log analysis, debugging).
9. Fix minor backend issues under supervision.
10. Learn to use logging frameworks (Logback, SLF4J) for tracing errors.
11. Write unit tests using JUnit and Mockito.
12. Test APIs using Postman and verify database changes.
13. Work on integration with third-party APIs (e.g., SMS, WhatsApp, Firebase).
14. Assist in writing optimized SQL queries for new requirements.
15. Support in monitoring performance of APIs (response time, database queries).
16. Learn about caching mechanisms (Redis, in-memory caching if used).
17. Attend daily standups with the tech team.
18. Collaborate with senior developers to review code and get feedback.
19. Document assigned tasks and learnings for future reference.
20. Work on GPS data processing pipelines (device → Netty → database).
21. Assist in enhancing features like subscription handling, device status, notifications.
22. Contribute to sim card mapping automation and performance improvements in high-load scenarios.
