About the Internship

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer with a strong passion for visual storytelling to design captivating book covers across various genres. The ideal candidate has experience turning a manuscript's theme, tone, and target audience into visually compelling covers that attract readers and represent the essence of the book.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Creative Collaboration - Work closely with authors, editors, and marketers to understand the book's theme, tone, and target audience. Align design with author branding and genre expectations.
2. Visual Elements -Choose type, images, and color palettes that are genre-appropriate and story-driven. Prioritize aesthetic harmony and clear readability throughout the design.
3. Concept Generation: Create and present a range of distinct design concepts. Refine selected designs based on feedback.
4. Consistency: Guarantee visual consistency and quality across the entire book series or within all projects for a specific author's brand.
5. Industry Expertise: Stay continually informed on emerging design trends and current best practices within the publishing industry.
6. Adaptation: Expertly resize and modify core designs to meet the unique specifications and aspect ratios of various social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook).

What You'll Bring (Requirements)

1. Strong Design Fundamentals: A solid understanding of layout design, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
2. Portfolio : A strong portfolio is required, clearly demonstrating experience in book cover design (or closely related visual storytelling work), with a solid understanding of typography, layout, and composition.
3. Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to producing pixel-perfect work.
4. Tools: Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite is a must, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Knowledge of additional tools like CorelDRAW, Lightroom, Figma, or video editing is a valuable plus.
5. Creativity & Innovation: The ability to bring fresh, imaginative ideas to the table.
6. Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
