About the Internship
Selected intern’s day‑to‑day responsibilities include:1. Assisting with vendor management by researching, evaluating, and maintaining a supplier database, monitoring vendor performance, coordinating communications, and supporting initiatives to enhance vendor processes.
2. Supporting purchase order (PO) processing through preparation, review, and tracking of orders to ensure accuracy, timely delivery, and adherence to procurement policies.
3. Managing inventory tasks, including monitoring stock levels, analyzing turnover trends, and collaborating with relevant teams to optimize inventory and prevent both stock‑outs and overstock situations.
4. Contributing to cost control and negotiation processes by collecting supplier quotes, assisting with price comparisons, and helping negotiate favorable terms to drive savings opportunities.
5. Ensuring thorough documentation and compliance by organizing procurement contracts, certifications, requisitions, and audit records in line with company and regulatory standards.
6. Conducting market analysis, including researching suppliers, benchmarking pricing, tracking market trends, and supporting the development of RFQs/RFPs to guide sourcing decisions.
7. Collaborating with cross‑functional teams such as operations, finance, legal, and quality to align procurement activities, coordinate deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and drive process improvements.
8. Reviewing technical specifications by assessing product or service requirements, liaising with internal stakeholders, and helping to ensure accurate communication of specifications to suppliers.
