About the Internship
About the Role:We’re looking for an enthusiastic Backend Engineer Intern, with the potential to convert to a full-time role, to join our growing product engineering team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career developers who are eager to learn, build, and grow in a fast-paced startup environment. You’ll work under the guidance of senior engineers to develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases that power our products.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Backend Development: Write clean, maintainable code using Ruby on Rails (or Python/Django), following MVC principles and best practices.
2. API Design & Integration: Assist in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs, ensuring reliability and scalability.
3. Database Work: Work with relational databases like MySQL, design schemas, write queries, and optimize basic operations.
4. Background Jobs: Learn to implement asynchronous task processing
5. Code Quality: Write unit tests, participate in code reviews, and follow coding standards.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with frontend engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end features.
7. Continuous Learning: Get mentorship from senior engineers, learn modern backend practices, and grow your problem-solving and system design skills.
Nice-to-Have (but not mandatory)
1. Exposure to Redis for caching or background jobs.
2. Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Heroku).
3. Personal/college projects, internships, or contributions to open source.
