Geetika Madan Patel, Vice President, Parul University, Represents PU at the Prestigious QS House of Lords Roundtable, London
The honourable Vice President and Medical Director of Parul University, Geetika Madan Patel, was the recent guest invited to the QS House of Lords Roundtable in London. The QS Quacquarelli Symonds, the world's higher education leader, hosts this annual forum in which universities, policymakers and leaders in the industry discuss collaboration, innovation and the future of higher education between India and the UK.
This year’s roundtable marked the fifth anniversary of the Indian National Education Policy (NEP 2020), a milestone program that has introduced a lot of transformation in the higher education system of the country. Meanwhile, the UK-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) discussions revolved around such significant areas as education, skills development, and research cooperation. The roundtable offered a valuable opportunity to bring these two agendas together and explore new ways for India and the UK to work closely in education and research. The presence of Ms Geetika showcased Parul University’s interest in nurturing international partnership and creating bridges in educational practices, as well as being part of a discourse that will determine the future of knowledge transfer.
India is rapidly growing into an innovation and collaboration hub in the world as its universities are spearheading cutting-edge research, transnational education programs, and collaboration with international institutions. The roundtable served as an opportunity to consider the transformative effect of NEP 2020 on India’s higher education landscape and discuss how the UK-India FTA can enhance educational and research relationships. Through these discussions, leaders from both nations examined ways to reimagine partnerships in education, enhance research collaboration across key sectors such as science, technology, healthcare, sustainability, and AI, and promote student and faculty mobility, co-teaching initiatives, and capacity-building programs.
Parul University takes immense pride in Ms Gettika’s participation, highlighting the effort of the institution to promote global relationships, excellence in education, and a future where knowledge has no borders. Her representation in the roundtable not only gave Parul University a better voice at the international level but also showed that the institution was determined to form a productive partnership that will impact positively on students, faculty, and the academic community at large.
