MoPR Internship 2025: Eligibility, Application and Selection Process

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) is offering an internship for 2025 as part of the Revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) that runs from 2022 to 2026. This program is aimed at undergrads, postgrads, PhD students, and research scholars from recognized colleges, both in India and abroad.

Interns will get involved in policy research, data analysis, and rural governance projects at the MoPR headquarters in New Delhi. The internship can be hybrid or remote, usually lasting between 15 days and six months. Ideal start times are from mid-June to mid-August or mid-October to early December.

Those selected will have a chance to gain hands-on experience with Panchayati Raj institutions (PRIs) and learn about sustainable development goals and policy implementation under expert guidance. Most interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹7,000, with some pro-bono options available. They'll also have access to office facilities like workspace, internet, and a library but will need to bring their own laptops.

To apply, you'll need to go through the ServicePlus portal, which opens the first 10 days of each month. You'll need to submit your academic transcripts, CV, statement of purpose, and proof of enrollment or a no-objection certificate. Selection is based on merit as determined by MoPR’s Divisional Heads. After finishing the internship and submitting your work, you'll get an official certificate, which can be a valuable asset for careers in rural development, public policy, and governance.
