The JEE Advanced 2025 exam is set to take place on 18th May 2025. It is one of the most competitive and difficult exams in India. It takes a lot of effort and hardwork for students to crack the JEE Advanced exam. Due to the difficulty and competition, there is a lot of stress on students appearing for the exam. Stress can cause students to forget important items or tasks that they should do on the day of the exam. This article helps highlight some important guidelines students should follow on the day of the JEE Advanced exam. Following these exam-day guidelines can help students avoid any stress or hassle for the examination. 

JEE Advanced 2025 Important Items to Carry 

There are several important items that students must carry to the exam center for the JEE Advanced examination. These items include important documents and stationery. Provided below are the important items students should carry to the JEE Advanced 2025 examination center: 

• JEE Advanced Admit Card: This is the most important document for students to carry to the examination center for the JEE Advanced examination. Without this, students will not be given entry into the examination hall. It is recommended students have a physical print out of the admit card ready beforehand. 
• Photo-ID: Any government-issued photo-ID is recommended to be carried by students. This is mainly for proper verification of students’ identities. These could be any government-issued document such as PAN Card, Aadhar Card or Passport.
• Water Bottle: A water bottle should be carried by students for hydration purposes. It is advised to students to carry transparent bottles to avoid any confusion or hassle. 
• Black/Blue Ballpoint Pen: Carrying any black or blue ballpoint pen is recommended for students giving the examination. 

JEE Advanced Dress Code

The JEE Advanced examination does have a dress code for students to follow. Students who do not adhere to the JEE Advanced Dress Code may be asked to leave the examination hall. It is recommended students strictly follow the dress code. 

The JEE Advanced Dress Code is as follows: 

• Any form of shoes are not allowed to be worn to the examination. Students are recommended to wear sandals or slippers to the JEE Advanced exam instead. 
• Both boy and girl students are recommended to wear simple and light-coloured clothes without any fancy designs or logos. It is also recommended for students to not wear pants with a lot of pockets to avoid any trouble or confusion. 
• Jewelry is not allowed inside the JEE Advanced examination hall. Jewelry includes items such as rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Other forms of accessories such as belts and watches are also not allowed inside the exam. 
• Girl candidates are advised not to wear any designed hair clips and hair ties. 

JEE Advanced Exam Day Guidelines

The day of the JEE Advanced examination can be quite stressful for students giving the paper. Here are some guidelines that students can follow on the day of the exam to be confident and avoid any trouble on the examination day. 

The JEE Advanced Exam Day Guidelines are as follows: 

• Exam Center Route: Students should properly map out their route to the examination center. Having a clear idea on the shortest route to the exam center for the JEE Advanced paper can help students save time and avoid any trouble. 
• Reach the Exam Center Early: Students giving the JEE Advanced Exam should aim to reach the examination center early. Leaving home earlier and reaching before the required time can help students avoid any traffic or weather-related troubles. It is important for students to know that no entry will be given to students who show up late. 
• Carry Important Documents: Students should not forget to carry their important documents for the JEE Advanced exam. These important documents mainly include the JEE Advanced Admit Card and a government-issued photo-ID.
• Avoid Revision: On the day of the JEE Advanced exam, it is better for students to not waste their energy revising. Students should reassure themselves that what they have prepared is enough for the exam. Revision at this stage can cause unwanted stress and hamper a student’s overall performance. 
• Follow the Dress Code: To avoid any disruption while entering the exam center or giving the paper, it is recommended for students to thoroughly check the dress code. Following the dress code can help students avoid any hassle or disruption when appearing for the exam.
• Do Not Carry Prohibited Items: Students are recommended not to carry any item that is not allowed by the conducting authority to the JEE Advanced exam. These prohibited items include electronics, watches, jewelry, study material, rough pages or any other prohibited items. 
• Stay Calm: Giving the exam can be quite a stressful experience for students. Keeping a calm and relatively stress-free mind will be very helpful to students looking to score well on the exam. Using breathing techniques, meditation or listening to music on the exam-day can help students be calm and stress-free before the examination.

JEE Advanced In-Exam Guidelines

Provided below are some guidelines students can follow when inside the examination hall for the JEE Advanced exam. Following these guidelines can ensure that students deal with minimum stress and know what they are doing before starting to write the JEE Advanced exam. 

The in-exam guidelines are as follows: 

• Cooperate with the Invigilator: It is recommended that students thoroughly cooperate and follow all instructions given by the exam invigilator. This includes the verification process. This includes handing over the admit card, thumb prints and other forms of inspections. Students who do not cooperate with the invigilator may be asked to leave the JEE Advanced exam.
• Rough Work: Students giving the JEE Advanced exam are not allowed to carry rough pages. All rough work by students is required to be done on a scribble pad. The scribble pad will be taken back by the examination invigilator after the exam has concluded. 
•  Do Not Leave Exam Center Early: Students are not allowed to leave the examination center for the JEE Advanced exam early. If a student finishes the exam before time runs out, they are required to sit and wait till the examination is finished for everyone. Paper-1 ends at 12pm in the afternoon and Paper-2 of the JEE Advanced exam ends at 5pm. Students may ask the invigilator to leave early if required. 
• Complete Both Papers: The JEE Advanced exam consists of 2 exam papers for students to give. If a student appears for one exam but not the other, they will be marked absent and not evaluated. To avoid this, students should keep in mind that they are giving 2 exam papers and not 1.
