The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the CLAT Notification for 2026. The process of applying for CLAT 2026 will begin from August 1, 2025. The CLAT 2026 will be conducted for the undergraduate and postgraduate law courses of National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. CLAT Exam 2026 will be conducted on December 7, 2025, and the same day will be for the PG courses.
Eligible candidates can submit the CLAT Application Form on the website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Common Law Admission Test, or CLAT, is a national-level law exam. It is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities or NLUs. It facilitates students to get admission into 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses. The exam is conducted for 24 NLUs for undergraduate courses and 21 NLUs for postgraduate courses.
The CLAT test 2026 for undergraduate studies will be conducted in the traditional manner, i.e., pen and paper. The CLAT Syllabus, which will be the basis of exam design consist of English, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. The test for postgraduate study will consist of Constitutional Law and other law subjects like Jurisprudence, Torts, IPC, CrPC, CPC, Family Law, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

Steps to Fill CLAT Application Form 2026
Students can follow the below listed steps to know how to apply for the CLAT exam.
→Registration: Interested candidates will have to register by providing their personal and academic details. Besides, they must select and confirm a password for their newly created account.
→Login: After the registration process is completed, candidates must log in to access their application form.
→Select the Program: After logging in, choose the program you wish to take this exam for i.e. 5-year LLB or 1-year LLB.
→the Application Form: There are various fields in the exam form such as personal information, communication details, qualifying examination status, exam center preferences (3 centers can be selected in the order of preference), and reservation.
→Submit the Form: Once these exam details are completely filled, candidates must agree to the declaration and give their consent. After all this is done, candidates must submit the form.
→Payment of Application Fee: This is the last step to fill CLAT 2026 Application Form. The payment of CLAT Application Fee must be done through online mode i.e. credit card, debit card or net banking.

CLAT 2026 - Pre Registration Tips
- Please read the official notification carefully to understand the eligibility, important dates and all the instructions.
