CUET preparation is essential due to the number of candidates competing for fewer opportunities; many over 10 lakhs take the CUET exam. The CUET UG 2025 exam dates will fall between May 08 and June 03, 2025. Therefore students should plan their CUET UG 2025 accordingly. CUET is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to more than 210 universities, which includes the following: 47 central universities, 27 state universities, 22 deemed universities, 110 private universities, and 7 others.

Understand the exam pattern for CUET

CUET exam pattern is such that question papers of nearly every course have total question papers containing a total of 160 MCQs, out of which applicants need to answer – roughly – 130 questions in a total duration of three hours. To prepare effectively for the CUET exam, candidates should be well-acquainted with the syllabus. Aspirants must plan their preparation on a monthly, weekly and daily basis. Success is not possible without hard work; to pass the entrance exam, candidates can work smarter as well by:

  • Create topic lists, by subject 
  • Split the subjects and topics into easy and difficult based on personal experience 
  • Note what topics will carry the most weightage (based on previous years' question papers).

  • Identify the Correct Books: Start your preparation by identifying reading books which target CUET 2025. Pick books which have a state syllabus and CUTE pattern.
  • Buy More Resources: It is recommended that you should buy 2-3 preparation books per subject which would represent different types of explanations and question formats and practice sets.
  • Study Specific to Post / Course: Buy books associated with the Post / Course you are applying for (Humanities, Commerce, or Science) as the subjects are directed for each with a separate assignment of syllabus.
  • Absolute all in one coverage: Choose books that explain concepts when possible, but also provide exercise's and chances to practice questions and exam paper practice and model tests.
  • New Editions and Update: Preferably from the last edition which is updated with the CUET 2025 specifics including any new question pattern. 2.

Create a Timetable

  • Planning: Daily, weekly, and monthly :Time is money, use it wisely. If you know you won't finish the syllabus in a month, allocate days or weeks for specific subjects, and motivate yourself to complete your monthly goals in phases.
  • Attend to the difficult topics: Devote more time to difficult or weighty subjects or topics, than easier or less critical ones.
  • Allow time for Revision: Don't just read NEW stuff; allow the same amount of time each week as the revision of material studied.

  • Practice past papers: The previous five years of questions will assist to make you familiar with structuring responses, the style of questions, marks allotted or expected, the time allocated for each section etc.
  • Patterns: See how the questions are framed, and which topics are often repeated.
  • Importance: You will see which topics emerge often and, therefore, study for these important subjects.
  • Speed: Try to practice question papers in the limited time and, therefore, improve your speed and accuracy as well.
