Chandigarh University's ascent to the 19th position in the NIRF ranking among India’s top universities, released by the Union Ministry of Education, Government of India, demonstrates its academic excellence, high teaching standards, research and placements, outreach, inclusivity, and innovation, signifying commitment, hard work, and achievement.

The NIRF’s ranking and accreditation are important for assessing the quality of educational programs offered by any higher education institution (HEI). The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in India is the most trusted and authentic ranking system of the country, as it covers comprehensive points to analyze the quality and excellence of HEIs across different categories and ranks them on their aggregate score.The evaluation is based on various parameters such as:

• Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR)
• Research and Professional Practice (RP)
• Graduation Outcomes (GO)
• Outreach and Inclusivity (OI)
• Peer Perception

With the overall rankings, Chandigarh University also positions itself in the top spots across the cross-disciplinary streams, such as Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, and Architecture

Chandigarh University’s Performance inNIRF Rankings 2025

• In engineering, CU secured31st rank,with an overall score of 60.46. The university stood out in Teaching, Learning & Resources (73.26) and Outreach & Inclusivity (74.33).
• In Management, CU secured32nd rank.Apart from the improvement in overall rankings, USB also improved its overall score to 59.40, and categorically, the Management division performed outstandingly well in Teaching, Learning & Resources (73.83); Graduation Outcome (74.27); and Outreach & Inclusivity (78.10).
• In Pharmacy, CU secured15th Rank to enter the top 20 pharmacy institutes in India with anoverall score of 59.70. The division has done remarkably well in Teaching, Learning & Resources (68.30); Graduation Outcome(69.26); and Outreach & Inclusivity (75.76).
• In Architecture & Planning, CU secured14th Rank, with anoverall score of 54.49, with significant scores in Teaching, Learning & Resources (71.22); Graduation Outcome (71.05); and Outreach & Inclusivity (76.01).

In Research, CU secured34th Rank among the Best Institutions in India, reflecting the university’s commitment to research and professional practice.
